Focus and Scope
In Situ Archaeologica är en peer reviewed arkeologisk tidsskrift som publicerar artiklar och debattinlägg inom arkeologi på skandinaviska språk eller engelska. Ämnen med relevans för In Situ Archaeologica sträcker sig från stenålder till samtidsarkeologi, teoretiska som empiriska studier. Tidskriften publicerar också temanummer och gärna resultat och analyser från skandinavisk uppdragsarkeologi eller seminarier, workshops, konferanser o.d. In Situ recenserar inte litteratur.
In Situ Archaeologica is a peer reviewed archaeological journal publishing articles and discussions in Scandinavian languish or in English*. Subjects relevant to In Situ Archaeologica range from Stone Age to contemporary archeology, theoretical as empirical studies. The magazine also publishes thematic numbers and preferably results and analyzes from Scandinavian contract archeology or seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. In Situ, does not review literature.
* English languish revision is provided by the journal but paid for by the author.

Peer Review Process
Each submitted manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial board. after that and possible changes by author the manuscript is evaluated in a blinded peer review on the following basis:
- The originality of its contribution and relevance to the Journals topics of interests
- The soundness of its theory and methodology given the topic
- The coherence of its analysis
- Its ability to communicate to readers (grammar and style)
- The relevance of illustrations and tables.
After peer-review and changes accordingly to the review, the manuscript is subject for languish revisions and harmonization to the journals style-guide.
Contributions is assessed and published continuously under yearly issues. Normal turn-around time for evaluation of manuscripts is one to two month from date of receipt.
Publication Frequency
In Situ Archaeologica receives, evaluates and publishes articles continuously put together in annual volumes. All scripts with relevance to the journal are evaluated by the editorial staff and are then sent to anonymous peer review for the evaluation.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
