Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

SJPA publishes articles and book reviews within the field of Public Administration. The editors welcome manuscripts with perspectives from political studies, management studies, organisational studies, economics or law studies. Articles shall be written in in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Authors who feel their English language manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors are recommended to use a English Language Editing service.

Submitted manuscripts are double-blind peer reviewed.

Submit manuscripts online at www.sjpa.gu.se, the editors estimate the publishing process to 2-8 months. SJPA aims to keep contributors informed of the progress of their submissions on a regular basis. Decision about publication can be taken during the whole period.

PAPER PRESENTATION

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically, in .doc, or .docx
  • Submit the manuscript online at www.sjpa.gu.se in ONE document
  • Manuscripts are not returned.
  • The articles are published in paper and electronlcally.

1) Manuscripts should not have been published nor be currently under review elsewhere during the publication process in SJPA.

2) Submit ONE document with the following sections (2 a-b), on separate pages:

a) Article title; abstract (max. 200 words); five keywords; a word count; author's or author's name; institutional affiliation; address; e-mail address; and a short biography of each author (max. 100 words).

b) Full papers should be between 7000 and 9000 words, 12 points Times New Roman, two levels of subtitles, double-spaced throughout (this includes Notes and References sections) on A4 paper with 2,5 cm margins.

3) Keep notes to a minimum and present them as end-notes.

4) Tables and Figures shall be numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. Maximum width is 110 mm and maximum height 180 mm, INCLUDING title and comment. Use Times New Roman size 10 in tables and figures.

5) A list of References shall be placed in the end of paper, using the Harvard system, in text use (author, year) as: (Brunsson, 1989; Meyer & Rowan, 1977) or with page reference: (Castells, 2009: 128). In the reference list, references are listed alphabetically and in descending date order:

- Article: Surname, Name (year) article title, Journal, Vol (Nr): p-p.

- Books: Surname, Name (year) Title, Publisher, city.

- Edited books: Surname, Name (year) 'Chapter' in Name Surname (ed), Book title, Publisher, City.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor)
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  3. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  4. The authors agree upon electronic publication
